Smart Cities @European Sustainable Energy Week

9 smart city projects to share lessons at Smarter is Cleaner event

21 - 22 June 2017, 14:00 - 17:30
Brussels, Belgium

What energy solutions are smart city projects producing? How closely can they be replicated from one city to another? Nine Horizon 2020 smart city projects will share their experiences during the European Energy Sustainable Week (EUSEW), taking place from 19 to 25 June 2017 in Brussels (Belgium).

Join two sessions on 22 June:

SMARTER IS CLEANER - LESSONS LEARNT FROM THE SCC1 PROJECTS

Nine smart city projects funded under the Smart Cities and Communities (SCC1) Horizon 2020 funding programme will contribute to the ICLEI coordinated "Smarter is cleaner" policy session on 22 June from 16.00 - 17.30. The session will focus on the replication potential of the energy-related smart solutions implemented in leading cities. These projects represent a total of 27 advanced cities and 30 learning cities, working to build up a catalogue of experience and techniques that can be applied in other cities across Europe.

The aim of this joint event is to equip other cities with the knowledge to put these technological solutions into practice. The session will look closely at smart solutions in three areas: smart grids, smart electric storage, and industrial to civic prosumers.

To register, visit the EUSEW website.

FOLLOWER CITY SIDE-EVENT

Before this SCC1 session, ICLEI will also take part in a side-event hosted with ERRIN. The session will focus on the follower cities of H2020 projects and answer questions such as: What are follower cities? Does it make sense for my city? And what is the potential to become a follower city?

For more information and to register for the follower city event, visit the ERRIN website.

Both session will take place in the Greater Birmingham and West Midlands Brussels Office:
