ENABLE Webinar

How can urban green be more accessible? Using data to make public space more inclusive

7 December 2017, 11:45 - 12:30

ENABLE (Enabling Green and Blue Infrastructure Potential in Complex Social-Ecological Regions) aims to advance knowledge of designing and implementing Green and Blue Infrastructure (GBI) in a way that maximises its potential to deliver numerous social and environmental benefits, such as social inclusion, health and human wellbeing, storm water retention and habitat functions. ENABLE uses a transdisciplinary approach to investigate the role of GBI in tackling a range of social-ecological challenges facing cities.

This webinar will introduce ENABLE and give insights into ways of determining how accessible green spaces are and how they are distributed among urban residents in order for all urban citizens to benefit from them.

The webinar will be facilitated by Alice Reil, ICLEI Europe and Chantal van Ham, IUCN and will begin with an introduction to the project by Erik Andersson, Project Coordinator and Associate Professor, Stockholm Resilience Centre, Stockholm University (Sweden), a presentation on Identifying and studying barriers preventing access to urban green spaces, by Jakub Kronenberg, Associate Professor, Faculty of Economics and Sociology, University of Łódź (Poland) and will conclude with a questions and answers session with the participants.

The webinar will take place 7 December, 2017, 11:45 – 12:30 CET. To register for the webinar, click here.
