Bertelsmann Foundation Cities Congress on Sustainability

7 - 8 December 2017
Düsseldorf, Germany

The 10th Cities Congress of the Bertelsmann Foundation will take place from 7 - 8 December 2017 in Düsseldorf (Germany), alongside the German Sustainability Day. This year’s conference, titled "Kommune 2030 - sustainable and digital", will focus on the central themes that are displayed within a sustainable community.

Through the use of practical examples, the conference will discuss how sustainability can be implemented on different geographic scales, from villages to metropolises. Topics covered during the event will include: Smart Cities, the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), the “Globally Sustainable City”, sustainability budgeting, and innovative mobility concepts.

ICLEI is a partner of the Bertelsmann Foundation in promoting and improving sustainability management in local governments and part of the assessment team for the German Sustainability Award for cities. The winners of the award will be announced at the concluding ceremony of the congress.

There are a limited number of free event tickets available for participants from local governments.
