Europe looking ahead to EU Sustainable Energy Week 2011

Preparations are already underway for EU Sustainable Energy Week 2011. Running from 11-15 April 2011, this key event will have a particular focus on energy efficiency, whilst also continuing its commitment to drawing attention to renewable energy.

The organisers are sending out a Europe-wide call, asking people to join in and organise an Energy Day in their city, town or region during this week in April 2010. An Energy Day event can be anything from exhibitions, conferences, online events, and performances to guided tours, open door days, workshops, media campaigns or concerts. All events are welcomed, as long as they encourage and promote energy efficiency or renewable energy.

Plans have also been put in place for a series of events in Brussels (Belgium), including a 3-day policy conference organised by the European Commission, which will run from 12-14 April 2011. EU Sustainable Energy Week is an annual event which began in 2005.
