The European Commission’s Smart Cities Marketplace is hosting its yearly forum in Brussels, on 26-27 April, 2022. The forum aims to tackle common challenges and build upon best practices on collaborations between public and private partners working with Smart City solutions to power the green transition. The Explore-Shape-Deal Matchmaking process of the Smart Cities Marketplace, jointly with private financing and supporting EU instruments, contributes to the upscaling of smart city solutions.

ICLEI Europe is supporting the Smart Cities Marketplace and this year’s event will be organised in collaboration with the Covenant of Mayors Office, the European Innovation Council, among others partners. Participants will be able to network and build capacity, exchange knowledge on the clean energy transition, funding and financing opportunities, and learn how to improve citizens’ quality of life by integrating innovative and clean-technology solutions in Europe.

The event programme will also look into the future of the Smart Cities Marketplace to support a just and clean urban transition, and offer city representatives a chance to connect with investors through the matchmaking activities taking place.
