3rd Livable Cities Symposium

Istanbul, Turkey

Local government representatives, city transport experts and urban planners from around the world will gather in Istanbul (Turkey) in November for the 3rd Livable Cities Symposium to discuss how to build more sustainable cities in the face of rapid urbanisation.

Presented by Embarq Türkiye, the symposium will take place the 19 and 20 November 2015 and address how to direct technological innovation and infrastructure development to make cities smarter, more sustainable and livable.

Speakers at the event at Istanbul Technical University include Aniruddha Dasgupta, Global Director at the WRI Ross Center For Sustainable Cities; Phillipe Crist from the OECD’s International Transport Forum; and C40 Regional Director Simon Hansen.

During the sessions on the first day, experts will present innovative urban mobility solutions to create livable smart cities, examine how to make cities safer by design and discuss financial support for sustainable cities.

Day two will feature three focus group meetings: one on building efficiency, another on urban design, and a SOLUTIONS project Sustainable Urban Mobility Training (SUMP) training workshop.
