The GREEN SURGE project invites you to its next and final online conversation on what it takes for cities and universities to collaborate effectively to promote greener, healthier and more equitable cities. We will share our lessons learned from practitioners and researchers working together in Learning Alliances to study and advance the implementation of urban green infrastructure (UGI) in five European cities.

Tim Delshammar is a landscape architect who moved from the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences to the Streets and Parks Department of the City of Malmö, Sweden, two years ago. He experienced both the academic and the practitioner’s side of the collaboration in which he was closely involved. Rozalija Cvejić from the University of Ljubljana, Slovenia, and Alexander van der Jagt from the Forestry Commission Research Agency, UK, facilitated the collaboration in Ljubljana and Edinburgh (UK) respectively and will explain, amongst others, why a skilled facilitator is vital to the process. Rieke Hansen from the Technical University of Munich, Germany, will share how she worked with cities to produce a comprehensive and hands-on UGI guide for urban planners.
