Workshop

Strategic Heating and Cooling Planning

Digital tools for unlocking thermal potentials

6 April 2022, 10:00 - 11:00
- Online

The third session of the Act!onHeat Training Programme will go into further details about the use of digital tools as an essential instrument for accelerating and improving the process of strategic H&C planning. Participants of the session will be introduced to the user-friendly, open-source online software THERMOS, which enables address-level heat network planning. The complementary elements of the two digital tools will be outlined for a faster, more efficient, and more cost effective implementation of thermal projects. The launch of the Integrated Hotmaps and THERMOS User Guide will empower actors to feel comfortable in using both tools beyond this training programme.

At a glance, the session includes:

10:00 - 10:05: Welcome and introduction to the topic
10:05 - 10:10: Showcasing Hotmaps creations
10:10 - 10:20: The integrated use of the free online tools Hotmaps and THERMOS, by Juan Varo López (CREARA)
10:20 - 10:30: Identification of areas interesting for district heating developments with the Hotmaps toolbox, by Aadit Malla (TU Wien)
10:30 - 10:45: The THERMOS software for optimised thermal network planning online, by Martin Holley (CSE)
10:45 - 10:55: Interactive discussion
10:55 - 11:00: Closing
The session will take place online on 6 April 2022, 10:00am - 11:00am CET. Learn more about the session and the full Act!onHeat Training programme here

Please note that certification can be offered on demand. This requires watching the first and second sessions, participating in session 3, and completing a (short) case study afterwards.
