There is great potential in capturing and reusing water in our cities, towns and regions and greater potential in acheiving this together. The H2020-funded NICE Project focuses on nature-based solutions to mitigate pollution and contribute to water reuse for circular urban water cycle, based on capturing, retaining and treating water. Within this framework, 11 locations, known as Urban Real Lab‘s are working towards these aims through research and participatory processes. The 11 URLs come from around the globe. Some are, for example, using enhanced bioaumentation. In all, 14 pioneering partners in total are working together to develop and test these innovative solutions, while defining guidelines, business models, identifying opportunities in current regulatory frameworks, and raising awareness for co-creation.

During this webinar, Daiane Trevisan (CETIM) will tell us more about the project goals and activities, followed by Marina Gentle (LISODE), who will present the main actions these organisations carry out to connect and explore with stakeholders on how to develop NICE nature-based solutions. As a case study, the city of Gdánsk, represented by Magdalena Gajewska, will showcase their experience in their own context.
