Bottom-up adaptive heritage reuse: policies and practices

OpenHeritage Policy Conference

17 May 2022, 09:00 - 18:30
hybrid: Ghent (Belgium) and online

On 17 May 2022, the University of Ghent and the OpenHeritage project invite you to join a Policy Conference exploring policies and practices that support the adaptive reuse of cultural heritage. This conference will be held in a hybrid format, enabling participants to join either in-person in ICLEI Member Ghent (Belgium) or online.

This one-day event will bring together policymakers, researchers and practitioners to discuss how different policies can support bottom-up initiatives in their pursuit of adaptive reuse processes. It will introduce – and provide a framework for discussion about – various aspects of policy provision, concentrating on the topics of inclusive business models, partnership options and the economic role of SMEs in such processes.

Leveraging the learning of the OpenHeritage project, the conference will also provide inputs and recommendations for EU- and national-level policymakers on key opportunities in policymaking.
