UrbanByNature China Webinar #1

Introducing Nature-based Solutions and the UrbanByNature programme in China

30 June 2021, 09:00 - 10:30
- Zoom

Connecting Nature and CLEVER Cities have joined forces to bring UrbanByNature (UbN), the global programme for urban nature pioneers, to China. After a successful launch event during last year’s ‘4th High-Level International Forum on Sustainable Urban Development’ in Chengdu, UbN will kick-start a six-part webinar series for China on 30 June 2021.

In this inaugural UbN China webinar, participants will be introduced to nature-based solutions (NBS) and to how they are being implemented across cities in Europe. Participants will learn about the potential of NBS to contribute to urban regeneration efforts and climate resilience goals. In addition, good practice examples from Shanghai will showcase the relevance of NBS for cities in China. During the webinar, participants will also have the opportunity to share their experiences and to explore questions with the webinar speakers:

  • Chuntao Yang, Program Officer, ICLEI East Asia Beijing Office, Beijing, China
  • Marcus Collier, Connecting Nature Project High-level Advisory Committee Chair, Trinity College Dublin, Ireland
  • Martin Krekeler, CLEVER Cities Project Coordinator, City of Hamburg, Germany
  • Qin Mao, Deputy Director Changning Low Carbon Project Management and Development Center of Shanghai, Shanghai Changning District, China

The webinar will be moderated by Merlin Lao, Senior Program Manager at ICLEI East Asia and simultaneous translation (English and Chinese) will be provided.
