The new edition of the European Cycling Lexicon has been released, containing more languages, terms and information on cycling in Europe. This is the second edition of the European Cycling Lexicon and it includes a glossary of cycling terms in 27 languages, including all 23 official European Union languages.

The Lexicon is funded by the European Economic and Social Committee (EESC) and serves as a reference for travellers and anyone who wishes to cycle in Europe. Mr János Tóth, President of the EESC’s Section for Transport said, “Cities that are good for cyclists are cities that are good for all citizens.”

This updated release now includes four more languages in the printed version (Russian, Japanese, Chinese and Arabic) as well as six additional languages online (Croatian, Icelandic, Turkish, Macedonian, Montenegran and Albanian). Information on funding sources for cycling projects and infrastructure, as well as statistics underpinning the economic, environmental and health benefits of cycling have also been added.
