Using water more efficiently at fifth Breakfast at Sustainability’s

The fifth meeting in the Breakfast at Sustainability’s series focuses on water and how to manage it sustainably in concert with all those that are in charge. The meeting kicks off at 9.30am, and is hosted by the EU Liaison Office of the Region of Istria in Brussels (Belgium).

In some European countries increasing water scarcity has already forced politicians and practitioners to examine how to better treat this precious resource. Yet local governments with foresight can take action before a crisis leads to uncoordinated, ineffective and sometimes even counterproductive responses. The meeting features two panels, the first, Managing water scarcity: what are the strengths and potentials at local level, and the second, Increasing opportunities for more sustainable water management: local actors entering into new alliances.

Breakfasts at Sustainability's are small informal meetings hosted by Brussels Representations of regional and local governments. Topics covered are related to sustainable community development that are essential to public authorities, ranging from climate change issues to waste management, land use, water issues, clean transport, green energy and many more.
