CIVITAS Plus II Call for Proposals announced

The European Commission has unveiled the new CIVITAS Plus II Call for Proposals. The proposals were revealed during the second of two information days on Sustainable Surface Transport, held in Brussels. Cities can apply for funding as part of CIVITAS Plus II which aims to support them in designing, deploying and evaluating ambitious new policies and technologies for more sustainable urban transport.

Included amongst the expected impacts of CIVITAS Plus II are the promotion of integrated approaches to urban transport planning and financing, the networking of cities to promote dialogue and the development of methods of assessing the cost-effectiveness and long-term viability of integrated packages of mobility measure.

The CIVITAS Plus II call has an indicative budget of 18 Million Euro and will open on 21 September 2010 and close on 12 April 2011. Information can be found from pages 61 to 66 of the Sustainable Surface Transport Work Programme for 2011, now available for download here.
