ICLEI Europe partners on European Sustainable Energy Week 2021

ICLEI Europe has been announced as an official partner to this year’s European Sustainable Energy Week (EUSEW), which will take place on 25-29 October 2021. The annual event is one of the EU’s flagship conference series, and focuses on sustainable energy. After going virtual last year for the first time due to the COVID-19 crisis, the 2021 edition will also take place online, bringing together public authorities, private companies, NGOs and consumers from across Europe and the world.

The event is this year operating under the theme ‘Towards 2030: Reshaping the European Energy System’. Stakeholders are invited to attend and organise their own sessions at the digital policy conference; to be part of an extended side event programme including local Energy Day events and the virtual Energy Networking Village; to participate in the second European Youth Energy Day; and to submit their outstanding energy efficiency and renewable sources projects and initiatives to the EUSEW Energy Awards.

The month-long EUSEW series of activities works to build a secure energy future for Europe. The series is organised this year for the first time by the European Climate, Infrastructure and Environment Executive Agency (CINEA), in close cooperation with the Directorate General for Energy. More information can be found here.

ICLEI and its Members have a long history of participation in EUSEW, with many of its expert staff and specialised EU Horizon2020 projects and initiatives having contributed to the discussions since the start of EUSEW in 2006. This work has sought to promote and facilitate an affordable and rapid local energy transition – from supporting energy communities to building renovation, to positive and smart energy buildings and districts. ICLEI is once again contributing to this year's conference as a partner, participant and beyond.
