Rural communities interested in pursuing the development of heritage-led regeneration strategies are currently invited to join the RURITAGE project.

RURITAGE (rural regeneration through systemic heritage-led strategies) is a European project aiming to demonstrate the potential of local heritage as a catalyst for the economic competitiveness and sustainable and inclusive growth of rural areas.

The project brings together 19 rural communities in order to share best practices on heritage-led regeneration and develop new strategies for enhancing cultural and natural heritage.

The project is currently inviting up to nine rural communities to join as ‘replicators’. The ‘replicators’ will have a unique opportunity to learn from other project participants and knowledge experts as well as to participate in relevant project meetings.

They will also have access to a wide range of tools and knowledge to develop heritage-led regeneration plans adapted to their territories. Furthermore, their participation in the project will increase the visibility of their rural areas worldwide.

The call is open until 31 March 2019 and is open to rural communities from EU Member States, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway, and the European Neighbourhood Policy (ENP) countries.
