Deadline approaches for ZeitzeicheN local German sustainability award

The application deadline for the Netzwerk21Kongress (Network 21 Congress) ZeitzeicheN local German sustainability award is fast approaching, with the submission period set to close on 21 June.

The award aims to promote and recognise commitment to the implementation of the UN 2030 Agenda for sustainable development and in turn raise public awareness of the work of the award winners and nominees.

Successful applicants will be awarded within the following categories: education and communication for sustainable development; sustainable urban, community and regional development; sustainable production and consumption; international partnerships; and art and culture for sustainable development.

All applicants can additionally apply for the ‘audience award’, which will be determined via online voting.

The German local sustainability award is funded and supported by the Federal Environment Agency, through funds from the Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation and Building and Nuclear Safety Engagement Global.

The award is also supported by the Ministry of Environment, Agriculture and Energy for Saxony-Anhalt, the City of Dessau-Rosslau, the German County Association, the German Association of Towns and Municipalities, the Council for Sustainable Development, the Climate Alliance and ICLEI – Local Governments for Sustainability.
