ICLEI Members secure European Commission funding to implement innovative projects

The European Commission has recently announced the winning cities of the third call for projects under the Urban Innovative Actions, a funding mechanism which provides EU cities with resources to finance innovative projects, which aim to provide concrete solutions to common urban challenges.

Of the 22 cities to be awarded funding, ICLEI members Barcelona (Spain) received funding for their project which focuses on adaptation to climate change, Brussels and Ghent (Belgium) received funding for their projects which focus on housing, and Vantaa (Finland) received funding for their project which focuses on jobs and skills in the local economy.
