CIVITAS ECCENTRIC to hold sustainable mobility study visit in Munich

The CIVITAS ECCENTRIC project will will organise a ‘Living Labs’ study visit on 1 March 2018 in Munich (Germany) to demonstrate the potential and replicability of integrated and inclusive urban planning approaches. The visit will focus on sustainable mobility in suburban districts and innovative urban freight logistics, two important areas that have previously received less attention in urban mobility policies.

Themes explored during the study visit will include: Inclusive urban planning, new parking policies and mobility management, and enabling safe walking and cycling.

The study visit will bring together the five ECCENTRIC partner cities: Madrid (Spain), Ruse (Bulgaria), Munich (Germany), and ICLEI Member’s Stockholm (Sweden) and Turku (Finland). 16 observer cities will also take part: Budapest (Hungary), Ploiesti (Romania); Uppsala and Enköping (Sweden); Gabrovo, Montana, Svishtov, Varna, Veliko Tarnovo (Bulgaria) and ICLEI Member’s Zagreb (Croatia) and Vitoria-Gasteiz (Basque Country).

For cities interested in joining the Observer Cities Group, enquiries and applications can be sent to the project coordination team at the ICLEI European Secretariat: Eccentric.Observers@iclei.org.
