Why be an intern at ICLEI Europe?
We welcome interns at our offices in Freiburg (Germany) and Brussels (Belgium) for internships of 3-6 months in length. Internships are possible in the following teams (subject to availability):

- Sustainable Energy Systems
- Sustainable Food Systems
- Sustainable Mobility
As an intern at ICLEI Europe, you will support staff members in delivering ICLEI Europe's mission to support cities in building more resilient and equitable communities.
Examples of intern tasks include:
- Communication by e.g. providing and selecting thematic input for monthly newsletters and webinars
- Partner relationship management, stakeholder engagement
- Conceptualisation of presentations
- Conducting research for facts and figures of a specific thematic area
- Writing project-related case studies
Requirements for an internship at ICLEI Europe
- You are a Master's student at a European University
- For internships at the Freiburg office, an internship is a mandatory part of your study programme. You must continue to be enrolled for the duration of the internship. This stipulation does not apply to the Brussels office
- You are interested in staying for a duration of 3-6 months (5-6 months preferred)
- You have a scholarship or grant (covering your living costs during the envisaged time frame)
- You are willing to move to Freiburg or Brussels (for the envisaged time frame)
- You hold a German or Belgian visa/work permit, if you are a non-EU citizen
