Attend a hybrid session for meeting demand and supply in circular city projects

Cities and organisations in the field of circular economy are invited to attend the hybrid session “Meeting demand and supply for circular city projects” on 23 November from 9:00-13:30 in Ghent (Belgium).

The session is organised in the context of the kick-off meeting for Definite-CCRI, a Horizon CSA-funded project starting in November 2022 and ending in April 2025. The project will establish a deal engine to provide technical, financial, and circular economy expertise through local project development assistance to cities, regions, and project developers. In doing so, Definite-CCRI will help de-risk projects, making them more attractive for investors and meaningful for citizens. The project aims to close the gap between project developers in cities and regions on one side, and investors and finance partners on the other.

The session's main scope is to introduce cities to the Definite-CCRI Deal Engine mechanism and means to support cities in advancing their circular solutions. City practitioners from ICLEI Members Gent (Belgium) and Lappeenranta (Finland) will present innovative circular economy project ideas at different stages of development and reflect on their needs, challenges, and opportunities to further develop circular solutions.

Representatives from International Financial Institutions, multilateral banks, commercial banks and funds as well as other investors are invited to present their funding opportunities and reflect upon their needs and requirements for supporting innovative circular projects in cities.

Project partners, including ICLEI Europe, BwB, Circle Economy, Stad Gent, NTUA, the European Commission DG RTD, and the Circular Cities and Regions Initiative will take part in the opening session to further elaborate on the wider economic and policy scenario of circular cities.
