Registration is now open for the Governing and Financing the Sustainable City conference

Join us at the Governing and Financing the Sustainable City conference from 7-8 October 2019 in ICLEI Member City Copenhagen (Denmark). The conference will present Nordic sustainability projects to explore how cities can, and are, financing and delivering solutions to economic, social and environmental challenges.

Nordic cities are leaders in providing inclusive, sustainable solutions. Three out of Europe’s ten Green Capitals have been Nordic, and ICLEI counts 38 members in Nordic countries. This is in part because Nordic cities provide healthier environments through urban greening, human mobility and low levels of air pollution, and they support inclusive growth by encompassing diverse populations.

Do you want to learn how to finance and deliver sustainability projects to help your city face environmental challenges? Are you interested in sharing knowledge with the Nordic cities that are taking the lead in this arena?

Sharing successful approaches, innovative models and transferable good practices across borders inspires leaders to achieve their sustainability goals. It is thus imperative that knowledge be exchanged among Nordic and international leaders.

The Governing and Financing the Sustainable City conference will do just that. The event will delve into cases relevant both to cities experiencing urban decline, and for those facing extensive gentrification. Sessions will address topics such as: large-scale infrastructure financing; financing an inclusive city with diverse, affordable, and social housing options; financing the re-naturing of cities; and the Copenhagen City & Port Development model.

Attendance is free of charge. Click here for more information.
