How much information is enough? Mapping transition initiatives to be discussed in Milan

The ARTS Accelerating Transitions project will hold a side event dedicated to mapping transition initiatives (community-led projects that lead to positive change) at the Renaturing Cities conference in Milan (Italy) on 1 – 2 December 2014. The agenda will see participants, panelists and representatives of the ARTS consortium discuss what kind of information is needed to accelerate the transition to a more sustainable way of doing things in their communities and on the European level.

The main event, the European Conference on Renaturing Cities: Systemic Urban Governance for Social Cohesion, aims to inspire research and innovation policies on sustainable urban development by bringing together scientists, policy makers, the business sector and representatives of civil society. The focus of the agenda will be on multilevel governance for urban areas and urban pockets within rural regions, specifically on the relation between supranational, national and sub-national scales.

The European Conference on Renaturing Cities is co-organised with the Municipality of Milan and the Scientific Committee for Milan EXPO 2015, under the auspices of the Italian Presidency of the Council of the EU. To register, return the registration form by 24 November. To register for the ARTS side event, contact ania.rok@iclei.org.
