In an attempt to increase the rate of public transport usage in the city to 10 percent by 2020, ICLEI Member Dunkirk (France) will offer free bus fares across their network, which will come into effect from 1 September 2018.

In order to celebrate and promote the initiative, the city will host a conference on free public transport, 3-4 September 2018.

A mix of field trips, round table discussions and a mayoral meeting for all invited Mayors will make up the conference programme. Confirmed speakers include, among others: Taavi Aas, Mayor of Tallinn (Estonia) and Gil Avérous, Mayor of Châteauroux (Poland).
