Limerick City and County

Nestled along the River Shannon, it enjoys scenic landscapes, including greenery and waterways. With a population of approximately 100,000, Limerick thrives as a dynamic urban hub, driven by diverse industries like technology, pharmaceuticals, and education.

The City and County Council’s Development Plan sets out policies to enhance access to urban green space, provision of nature-based play areas, protection of biodiversity, and more. Limerick is hard at work to ensure that its richness of green and blue areas continues to thrive and support local health, resilience, and wellbeing.
