How people across Europe are turning to nature for a better future

Across Europe, people are choosing nature not only to protect the planet, but to build healthier, more resilient communities in the face of climate extremes, biodiversity loss, and economic uncertainty.

This momentum will take centre stage on 16 September 2025 at NetworkNature’s Annual Event in Brussels. Under the theme Choose Nature: Unlocking pathways to a resilient economy for people and the planet, the event will highlight how individual choices and local innovations are driving a continent-wide green transformation.

City leaders, businesses, researchers and civil society groups will share how nature-based solutions (NbS) are reshaping urban planning, boosting economic resilience, and creating jobs. Topics will include financing NbS, innovative governance, and working across sectors to embed nature into decision-making.

A highlight of the day is the exhibition Why Choose Nature? / Why Do We Care?, featuring personal reflections on why people and organisations are placing nature at the core of their work. The event will also launch the NbS Business Forum, showcasing nature-positive business models and offering practical insights for cities and enterprises eager to invest in greener futures.

Beyond the event, NetworkNature supports ongoing cooperation through its Nature-based Solutions Hubs and partnerships with NetZeroCities, helping cities integrate NbS into climate strategies under the EU Mission for 100 Climate-neutral and Smart Cities by 2030.

Participation is free, and registrations remain open until September.
