These are some of the 15 Frequently Asked Questions compiled in a new document to support public buyers, published by the European Commission and written by ICLEI Europe.

The FAQ document complements the European Commission report 'Making socially responsible public procurement work: 71 good practice cases', published last September. The report, written by ICLEI and AEIDL, highlights the wide range of mechanisms, applications and opportunities public buyers can choose from to use their procurements to deliver positive social outcomes.

Public authorities can engage in socially responsible public procurement by buying ethical products and services, and by using public tenders to create job opportunities, decent work, social and professional inclusion, and better conditions for disabled and disadvantaged people. The FAQ document aims to clarify potential questions public buyers interested in implementing SRPP might have.
