Green Week, the largest annual conference on European environment policy turns the spotlight on biodiversity this year. Running from 1 – 4 June in Brussels (Belgium), the conference will address the state of biodiversity and nature in Europe and the world, the benefits they bring, present-day pressures on them, and possible solutions to the current rates of loss.
ICLEI will have a stand at the event that will cover a range of campaigns and projects the organisation is involved in. Local Action for Biodiversity (LAB), is one such campaign. This global urban biodiversity programme is coordinated by ICLEI and is an accessible and enabling platform for committed, leading local governments from around the world.
ICLEI Europe is also involved in the European Capitals of Biodiversity, a project which will crown a capital of biodiversity in several countries around Europe. To learn more about this, join the 3,800 participants expected at Green Week 2010 and drop by the ICLEI stand while you're there.
