The European project PASTA "Promoting Physical Activity through Sustainable Transport Approaches" is organising a workshop on 18 November 2015 in Brussels (Belgium), to showcase active travel good practice examples and present the updated health economic assessment tool (HEAT) developed by the World Health Organisation. Registration for the event is now open.
PASTA is a four-year European project aimed to provide an insight into how city transport planning can be tailored to create a healthier, more physically active population. The PASTA Workshop will take stock of the city survey on active mobility behaviour in seven European cities (Antwerp (Belgium), Barcelona (Spain), Rome (Italy), London (UK), Oerebro (Sweden), Vienna (Austria), and Zurich (Switzerland)) and present early findings to an expert audience.
The workshop will present: tools to increase active mobility and create healthier urban environments; new approaches and good practice examples across European cities; and free training on the World Health Organization's tool designed to conduct an economic assessment of the health benefits of walking or cycling. The full agenda is available online. This is a free event which is open to local, regional and national authorities, researchers, urban and transport planning practitioners, advocacy groups and civil society organisations.
