Take a new Lifestyle Test to help jump-start a positive and sustainable life

A new Lifestyle Test launched today, which helps individuals jump-start a positive and sustainable life within their community.

This free web app is available in local languages of eight European countries (Estonia, Finland, Germany, Greece, Italy, Portugal, Slovenia, and Turkey), and serves to encourage users to adopt more positive, sustainable, and healthier lifestyles that reduce their environmental impact. By taking the Lifestyle Test, users will see their daily impact on the environment, and receive tailored tips based on their lifestyle choices.

The first step is a guided, quick, easy, and accurate test to determine a user's impact on the climate. Based on the test results, they then receive tailored suggestions, can build a unique personal plan, and are able to see how their daily actions can have a positive impact on the planet and life.

Finally, users' answers and choices are fed into an anonymous data pool, which help researchers and policymakers drive change across society. After all, lifestyle choices must be enabled and made accessible by policies, institutions, infrastructure, and businesses in order to move Europe towards its climate neutrality goal.

This free online app was developed in the context of the PSLifestyle project, in which ICLEI Europe is a partner. In fact, the new Lifestyle Test was co-created by the PSLifestyle project and residents via a series of workshops hosted in the eight European countries, including in ICLEI Member cities Tampere, Turku, and Lappeenranta (Finland), Athens (Greece), Lisbon (Portugal), Ljubljana (Slovenia), and Izmir (Turkey). Through the Living Lab workshops, participants engaged with other locals in their communities, and helped co-design the Lifestyle Test by assessing its features, and suggesting improvements regarding its functions and design, as well as country-specific lifestyle suggestions.

The PSLifestyle project is set to continue its path towards co-creating positive and sustainable lifestyles by initiating additional workshops in the eight countries throughout 2024. These will aim to collect local insights and innovative solutions on how to best deploy the Lifestyle Test throughout the EU, and will further identify local and topical customisation. In its role in the project, the ICLEI Europe team designs the local co-creation workshops to engage with public authorities and policy experts.
