CIVITAS VANGUARD assists the coordination and dissemination of results of the CIVITAS-Plus phase of the CIVITAS Initiative for cleaner and sustainable urban transport. Activities include conducting a needs assessment conducted among the CIVITAS-Plus demonstration projects and a broader audience. The CIVITAS Initiative helps cities to achieve a more sustainable, clean and energy efficient urban transport system by implementing and evaluating an ambitious, integrated set of technology- and policy-based measures. The REC is the consortium leader for CIVITAS VANGUARD, which assists the EC in coordinating CIVITAS Plus, the third phase of the CIVITAS Initiative, and disseminates CIVITAS Plus results (www.civitas.eu).
