Project disclaimer: The European Commission will adopt a 5 year Thematic Strategy in June 2005 that will drive European policy on air quality. The strategy will be influenced by recent experiences and policies in dealing with air pollution. Therefore, the Commission has commissioned a research project aimed at providing recommendations for the strategy regarding responses to short-term and localised air pollution. The research project aims to: - Invite authorities to describe their air pollution experiences and their responses in managing the problems (via a questionnaire). - From the information received, to identify good practice and to draft recommendations for the European Commission (EC) thematic strategy. - To disseminate the findings back to authorities via a publicly available database.
