Pulling together for an energy transition

LOWCAP and Energy Vision North Sea Region final conference

LOWCAP, a cluster project that aims to deliver a common approach to carbon reduction and energy efficiency within the North Sea Region, will hold a joint final conference with Energy Vision North Sea Region, a project addressing the energy challenges stemming from the transition to renewable energy. The conference will be held during the EU Sustainable Energy Week in Brussels (Belgium), on 26 June 2013.

The strengths and weaknesses in the North Sea Region’s transition from a reliance on fossil fuels to a sustainable energy future will be the focus of the event. Participating energy sector experts and political actors will take part in the economic and political discussions arising from the change and a series of recommendations developed by the projects will be presented.

Speakers at the event include Jean-Didier Hache, chair of Energy for the Conference of Peripheral Maritime Regions (CPMR), Christian Byrith, Head of the North Sea Region Programme, and Ole Sorensen, Chair of the North Sea Commission. The conference will be opened by Alyn Smith MEP.
