Transportation Information 2014

12 February 2014
Brussels, Belgium

There are many challenges for the transport sector, including its dependence on oil, carbon emissions, the costs of maintaining large-scale transport infrastructure, congestion. Job creation is often in the foreground when calling for more transport infrastructure. Are there other better solutions to secure job creation as well as a more sustainable future? However, better solutions are actively being sought to secure job creation as well as a more sustainable future.

A panel discussion will take place in Brussels (Belgium) on 12 February 2014 to examine this topic. Care-North plus (Low carbon transport strategies for the North Sea Area) and MEP Michael Cramer, Speaker of the Greens in the Committee on Transport and Tourism, are cooperating to share some inspiring thoughts and kick-start a political debate on mobility and transport of the future. Panelists will include Professor Jeff Kenworthy, author of the Millenium Database, Professor John Whitelegg, author of many articles and books about the role of transport for sustainable development, and Dr Joachim Lohse, Senator for Environment, Urban Development and Transport, City of Bremen (Germany).

Participation is free of charge. Registration is necessary, as places are limited.
