Get Ready for 2050

Online series to support the development, implementation and financing of climate & energy plans

20 May - 1 June 2021, 09:30 - 09:30
- online

Cities and regions across Europe and beyond are working hard on Sustainable Energy and Climate Action Plans (SECAPs), which will bring us toward a sustainable future for all. An array of projects and initiatives exist to support local governments in this work, with particular attention to some of the greatest challenges faced along the way.

Towards this end, the Covenant of Mayors for Climate & Energy – Europe, the C-Track 50 project and the PentaHelix project are coming together to jointly organise a unique online event series for local and regional public authorities and their stakeholders, with a focus on how to develop, implement and finance their action plans. The series, titled Get Ready for 2050, will also draw on insights from other like-minded EU projects and initiatives, including, DECIDEEuropean Energy Award, IMPLEMENT, CoME EASY, PROSPECT 2030, JOINT SECAP, STEPPING Plus, and E-Fix.

Get Ready for 2050 will support participants with sessions that focus on three fundamental points:

  • Session 1: How to build effective collaboration processes, 20 May 2021, 9:30–12:00 CEST
  • Session 2: How to successfully plan for the future, 27 May 2021, 9:00–12:00 CEST
  • Session 3: How to finance climate and energy plans, 1 June 2021, 9:30–12:00 CEST

Each online session will include inspiring presentations from various actors (high-level EU representatives, local and regional authorities, academia, project coordinators from consultancies, etc.) followed by practical discussions in small groups. These smaller discussions offer a unique opportunity for participants to ask their questions to experts and speakers, while also providing a platform to work together on opportunities and challenges related to the three topics at hand.
