Cities on the Frontline - Resilience for Communities, with Communities

6 November 2024, 15:00 - 16:00
- online

This month, the Urban Resilience Series will bring together experts across the private, public, and non-profit sectors to discuss major obstacles to urban resilience and how strategic collaboration can help accelerate multi-level action.

Cities across the world are starting to grasp the urgency of resilience action. From rising sea levels to dangerous heat waves, people in cities are more exposed every year to climate risk. Building resilience involves not only strengthening infrastructure but also enhancing social systems and community networks.

The third session, Resilience for Communities, With Communities, will focus on the crucial role of community voices in building long term climate resilience. ICLEI Europe's Nuha Eltinay, Senior Expert in Resilience and Climate Adaptation, will highlight the Z Zurich Foundation's Urban Climate Resilience Program, where we and ICLEI work to co-create plans to better handle climate challenges like heat and flooding in ICLEI Member Izmir (Türkiye).
