ICLEI Europe’s webinar series for Members explores different ways European cities are making sustainability a reality. Webinars happen once a month from 11:00–12:00 CEST.

Culture has unparalleled capacity to enable change, mobilising people to imagine and realise low-carbon, just, climate resilient futures. What role do cities play in creating cultural spaces for climate action? Join us on Tuesday December 5th 11:00-12:00 CET, to hear from ICLEI Members Freiburg (Germany), Bologna (Italy) and Rotterdam (The Netherlands) how pop-up festival houses, experimental urban installations, and adaptive reuse of public spaces can drive sustainable transformations at the local level. ICLEI is a founding signatory of the Global Call to Put Cultural Heritage Arts and Creative Sectors at the Heart of Climate Action, appealing for a ground-breaking ‘Joint Work on Culture and Climate Action’ decision at the upcoming COP28 in Dubai. In this context, the final session of this year’s ICLEI webinar series will be dedicated to culture-led climate action, featuring practical examples and best practices from experimental cities harnessing the power of the arts & creativity to make sustainability a reality. During the time for open discussion and questions, ICLEI Members will have the opportunity to network and discuss challenges and solutions related to using public spaces as open labs for regenerative cultures.
