Smart Cities Conference and Matchmaking

A Beginning – Not the End

4 - 5 November 2020
- online

Click here to join the final Smart Cities Information Systems (SCIS) conference, "A Beginning – Not the End", on 4-5 November 2020, which will include a Smart Cities Marketplace Matchmaking!

The conference will be the highlight of the Smart Cities Information Systems initiative, as well as the beginning of activities under the umbrella of the Smart Cities Marketplace. The event will explore “What’s next?”.

The aim of the conference and the consolidated matchmaking is:

  1. to gathrt cities from all over Europe interested in collaborative projects;
  2. to trigger further (EU) funded projects;
  3. to promote networking amongst interested cities and stakeholders; and
  4. to direct the audience towards the Smart Cities Marketplace as the logical follow-up to SCIS.

The conference, held online, includes a public two-day conference with a mixture of plenaries and engaging workshop sessions on several highly relevant topics, an all-day meet and greet with the Smart City Marketplace matchmakers, as well as a 30-minute lunch meet and greet with the Marketplace's Action Cluster leaders. On 6 November, a concluding coordinators’ meeting will be held (by invitation only).

Sessions will focus on:

  • highlighting lessons learnt and reflecting on the Smart Cities Information System;
  • letting stakeholders know about the resources provided by SCIS and the Smart Cities Marketplace;
  • providing a platform to discuss burning issues of smart cities today (including post-COVID recovery, and funding opportunities); and
  • informing all on how to stay engaged through the Smart Cities Marketplace.
