Gender-aware Cities:

planning through the gender lens

8 March 2023, 11:00 - 12:00

ICLEI Europe’s webinar series for Members explores different ways European cities are making sustainability a reality. Webinars happen once a month at 11:00–12:00 CET.

On the occasion of International Women's Day on 8 March, the session on "Gender-aware Cities: planning through the gender lens" will delve into inclusive urban design, gender-sensitive spatial planning and women & gender diverse people's participation in local decision-making. Join us to hear from Eva Kail, City of Vienna, who helped popularise gender mainstreaming in city planning. Learn how Vienna became a global leader in gender mainstreaming, working to integrate gender and social equity into their approaches to sustainability. Register here.

The session will include inspiring interventions from an ICLEI Member and ICLEI topical experts, sharing resources and best practices, followed by time for open discussions and questions. Members will have the chance to network and exchange on challenges related to the topic(s) at hand.

Registration is open! These events are for city professionals and representatives of ICLEI Members only. If you are an elected person or employee at an ICLEI Member organisation then you are a member too. If your organisation is not a member of ICLEI and is interested in applying for ICLEI membership, please go to join ICLEI.
