Making Cities Resilient 2030 Webinar “Nature-Based Solutions: Tools for Europe and Central Asia”

9 December 2021, 15:00 - 16:30

Increasing urbanisation and climate change pose complex challenges to urban systems, requiring urgent attention worldwide. Recent studies, such as the one launched by the Global Commission on Adaptation, devise ways to increase the resilience of urban centers. Among the main recommendations is the use of Nature-based Solutions (NBS), which prove to be efficient alternatives to the urban challenges faced by local governments.

Making Cities Resilient 2030 (MCR2030) is a unique cross-stakeholder initiative to improve local resilience through advocacy and knowledge sharing, establishing mutually reinforcing city-to-city learning networks. The webinar is part of a larger set of activities to support cities on their journey to reduce risk and build resilience, as well as an opportunity to provide an introduction to ICLEI Europe – one of the Core Partners of MCR2030 – and the services offered by NetworkNature, which can support cities to progress along the resilience roadmap.

NetworkNature is the one-stop-resource for the Nature-based Solutions community that fosters dialogue and cooperation among this community as well as with new target audiences - all to improve the uptake of NBS across science, business, policy and practice. Experiences from ICLEI and MCR2030 cities will also be shared.
