Join the EU Sustainable Energy Week and visit ICLEI's stand

When the EU Sustainable Energy Week kicks off on October 25, ICLEI Europe, and a number of our innovative projects, will be there with an interactive stand.

Staff from ICLEI Europe will be at the stand to showcase the work of our network, discuss the power of local governments committed to a sustainable transition, and to showcase specific projects of relevance to the participants. 

The projects will each share a day with a fellow project allowing the visitors to learn more. Once you are registered and logged in to the event, You can visit the stand directly here.

Overview of ICLEI projects and when the project is featured.

October 25:

  • AI4CITIES: The project is using AI to make Europe's cities more sustainable. Helsinki, Amsterdam, Copenhagen, Paris Region, Stavanger and Tallinn are going through a Pre-Commercial Procurement (PCP) to find solutions to make their mobility and energy domains more carbon neutral.
  • RUGGEDISED: It is a smart city project funded under the European Union’s Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme. It brings together three lighthouse cities: Rotterdam, Glasgow and Umeå and three follower cities: Brno, Gdansk and Parma to test, implement and accelerate the smart city model across Europe. Working in partnership with businesses and research centres, these six cities will demonstrate how to combine ICT, e-mobility and energy solutions to design smart, resilient cities for all.

October 26:

  • Science for Environment Policy: It is a free news and information service published by Directorate-General Environment, European Commission. It is designed to help the busy policymaker keep up-to-date with the latest environmental research findings needed to design, implement and regulate effective policies.   • Excess: FleXible user-CEntric Energy poSitive houseS showcases how nearly-zero energy buildings can be transformed into positive energy buildings. Funded by the EU Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme, EXCESS spearheads four innovative demonstration projects, introducing technical solutions that enable buildings to produce more renewable energy than they consume over the course of a year. 

October 27:

  • Actionheat: A new project funded by Horizon 2020, Act!onHeat will further the uptake of strategic H&C planning, increase its quality and push the development and implementation of identified measures. It will support at least 120 municipalities in strategic H&C planning and the development of at least 30 pre-feasibility studies for related individual projects with a mix of tailored individual and group support activities.
  • DECIDE: DECIDE is a Horizon 2020 project that aims to gain a better understanding of how energy communities and energy efficiency services are established and managed. It also intends to identify which kind of communications and interactions work best to encourage participation in energy communities for specific types of individuals and groups, and to test and transfer knowledge in pilot projects across Europe.

October 28:

  • MATRYCS: MATRYCS aims to combine existing modern technological breakthroughs in the areas of machine learning, deep learning and big data in order to develop a new decision-making and data analysis solution for energy-efficient building. It will do this through the creation of an AI-powered framework.
  • BuiltHub“Dynamic EU building stock knowledge hub - BuiltHub" is a European Project funded under Horizon 2020. The project seeks to develop a roadmap to continuously enhance the data needed to decide on building-related policy and business for involved stakeholders through a community and its data hub. It seeks to positively disrupt policy and market decision-making through a continuously community-enhanced evidence base.
  • GrowSmarter: GrowSmarter brought together cities and industry to integrate and demonstrate ‘12 smart city solutions’ in energy, infrastructure and transport, to provide other cities with valuable insights on how they work in practice and opportunities for replication.
