Together Towards City Resilience

6 May 2021, 10:00 - 11:30
- online

If the past year has made anything clear, it is that there is a critical global need to re-double and accelerate efforts to ensure urban resilience.

On 6 May, this free online event – co-organised by the United Nations Office for Disaster Risk Reduction (UNDRR) - Regional Office for Europe and ICLEI Europe – will set in motion work to shape the next decade as one that highlights city resilience across the Europe and Central Asia region.

UNDRR and ICLEI are committed to advancing this agenda, including through the implementation of the Making Cities Resilient 2030 (MCR2030) initiative across the Europe and Central Asia region. MCR2030 responds to the growing need to boost resilience at the local level, by building robust risk governance structures and processes in cities, to ensure that risks and impacts are mitigated and measures are taken at the most localised level.

Join us on 6 May, to learn from cities at various stages of their resilience journeys. These city experiences will showcase how, through robust risk knowledge, planning and implementation, urban resilience can be strengthened. Furthermore, it will highlight the power of peer learning and partnership, which are central to the MCR2030 initiative.
