Resilient Cities 2012

3rd Global Forum on Urban Resilience and Adaptation

12 - 15 May 2012
Bonn, Germany

The Resilient Cities series has cemented its position as a milestone event in the field of urban resilience and climate adaptation. Gathering over 500 participants and over 30 endorsing partners from diverse geographical and professional backgrounds, Resilient Cities is an unmissable event.

In its third year, participants had the opportunity to interact with authoritative experts and the audience to build bridges across the public and private sectors and fields of expertise and learn about groundbreaking topics. In addition, “Financing the Resilient City”, one of the main themes of Resilient Cities 2011, represented an outstanding breakthrough towards more sustainable resources for local governments. The special mayors sessions, where elected local decision-makers gathered and took a political lead in the field of climate change adaptation was another highlight.

There was also a focus on ensuring participants pick up practical ideas, in particular from the Resilient Cities case studies, such as the Reality Check Workshops where selected cities showcased their adaptation projects and received critical feedback from the audience.
