EUROPEAN MOBILITY WEEK

16 - 22 September 2017

The EUROPEAN MOBILITY WEEK campaign provides the perfect opportunity to present sustainable mobility alternatives to local residents and to explain the challenges that cities and towns are facing in order to induce behavioural change and make progress towards creating a more sustainable transport strategy for Europe.

Since 2002, thousands of towns and cities across Europe have taken part in EUROPEAN MOBILITY WEEK. The decentralised campaign allows public authorities of all sizes to join in during the week of 16-22 September. Towns and cities can participate by organising a week of activities, installing permanent mobility measures, or holding a Car-Free Day. NGOs, companies, civil society and other actors can also take part by organising a MOBILITY ACTION.

The theme for the 2017 campaign is "Sharing gets you further". The theme relates to how shared forms of transport can reduce our expenses and lower our carbon footprint, while at the same time making our journey more sociable. Smart technology, such as apps and online platforms are already helping to make mobility more efficient, saving us money and helping the environment.
