Overheated Cities:

urban resilience planning for extreme heat

5 July 2023, 11:00 - 12:00

ICLEI Europe’s webinar series for Members explores different ways European cities are making sustainability a reality. Webinars will happen once a month at 11:00 - 12:00 CET.

The summer is just kicking off! In this session on "(Blazing Cities: subtitle tbc)" on 5 July, The session is going to address heat stresses in urban areas and innovative strategies applied for building resilience. Every year, the summer heat is hitting sooner and harder than ever across Europe. The recent IPCC report has also shown that by 2050, temperatures could be as much as 2.5°C higher than today. Southern European countries in particular are those that seem to be most impacted by the intense warming. Register here.

The session will include inspiring presentations from ICLEI Members and ICLEI topical experts, sharing resources and best practice. During the time for open discussions and questions, Members can network and exchange on challenges related to heat stress and urban resilience.

Registation is open! These events are for city professionals and representatives of ICLEI Members only. If you are an elected person or employee at an ICLEI Member organisation then you are a member too. If your organisation is not a member of ICLEI and is interested in applying for ICLEI membership, please go to join ICLEI.
