Local authorities from across Europe are invited to apply for the 2021 Covenant of Mayors ‘City in the Spotlight Awards’. The deadline for which has been extended to 3 September.

The awards are a great opportunity to showcase your City’s progress in sustainability and to inspire others to spark change in their communities.

Applications are open to all European Covenant of Mayors signatories, who have committed to the 2030 mitigation adaptation targets. Signatories who meet the Covenant requirements, including reporting, are strongly encouraged to apply.

Applicants can apply across three categories:

     small-sized signatory (<10,000 inhabitants)
     medium-sized signatory (10,000- 250,000 inhabitants)
     large-sized signatory (>250,000 inhabitants)

All interested signatories should send relevant attachments via the online application form. Shortlisted candidates will be contacted by the European Commission, and the winner will be announced at a high-level EU ceremony on 7 October.
