CIVITAS Forum 2018 releases draft programme

The draft programme for the upcoming CIVITAS Forum, set to take place 19-21 September in Umeå (Sweden), has recently been released.

Spanning three days, the programme features over 25 parallel sessions, split into two types: thematic and take-up transfer sessions.

The thematic sessions will focus on the most urgent current mobility topics and provide participants with the opportunity to discover and discuss outstanding examples of work across and beyond the CIVITAS Initiative.

The take-up and transfer sessions will offer a prime opportunity for participants to get hands-on with and experience cutting-edge urban mobility tools and methods in action.

The programme will also comprise of keynote addresses from leading transport planners and policymakers from various levels across Europe, and site visits, which will allow participants to learn more about Umeå's sustainable mobility initiatives, including a multimodal hub, a smart university district, electric buses and cargo bikes.

As is tradition, the CIVITAS Awards ceremony will take place on the second evening of the Forum. This year's ceremony will take place in the glamorous Folkets Hus venue, Umeå's prime location for events of all kinds.
