Call for cities: Apply to receive tailored support to advance on adaptation action

Cities and regions across Europe are working together to implement effective climate adaptation action. The EU Policy Support Facility helps to make these goals a reality. The European Commission, under Covenant of Mayors – Europe, launched the initiative to provide tailored support for adaptation, facilitating and advancing local action to climate adaptation and resilience. The Policy Support Facility will assist local and regional authorities to develop and implement adaptation strategies. 40 local and regional authorities from 12 EU Member States will have the opportunity to receive tailored support from national and European experts to advance on adaptation action.

Support from the Policy Support Facility will focus on one priority measure identified by each respective city or region. The chosen measure can be anything related to climate adaptation: preparing the groundwork of identifying risks and vulnerabilities, developing a local policy to incentivise nature-based solutions, or even performing a feasibility study for a rainwater catchment infrastructure project.

Cities and regions from Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Greece, Hungary, Italy, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, and Spain who are willing to participate are invited to complete a simple application by 31 May 2022.
