Call open to host CITIES FORUM 2023

How can cities and organisations best achieve their sustainable development goals and create more liveable and future-proof regions? Which technologies and resources can empower society to make progress towards these aims? These questions and more are addressed at the biennial CITIES Forum, a European Commission-supported event that brings together key urban stakeholders to progress on EU-level initiatives that support cities. ICLEI Members are welcome to apply to host the 2023 edition of this Forum.

The CITIES FORUM explores important urban issues and policies, such as the urban dimension of the Cohesion Policy, the Urban Agenda for the EU, the role of cities in implementing the European Green Deal, the EU response to the New Urban Agenda, and the New Leipzig Charter.

The CITIES FORUM 2023 will be held in a hybrid (online and on-site) format. Cities interested in hosting this 5th edition of the CITIES FORUM, which will take place in the first quarter of 2023 and will welcome around 700 participants for two days, are welcome to apply.

This is an open call for host cities, organised by the European Commission’s DG REGIO. Cities interested in hosting and co-organising the CITIES FORUM together with DG REGIO can submit an application form by 31 January 2022.
