Empowering cities for a resilient future: EURESFO 2024 is coming to Valencia

From 26 - 28 June, the European Urban Resilience Forum (EURESFO) will bring city representatives and resilience professionals together in Valencia (Spain), an ICLEI Member and the European Green Capital 2024!

The 2024 edition of EURESFO is built around three key thematic streams and a fourth special thematic stream, each addressing crucial aspects of resilience, sustainable development and recovery. The first stream focuses on multilevel governance, cooperation, and the imperative of a just transition. EURESFO's second thematic stream reflects its host city Valencia, a major urban centre on the Mediterranean coast. This stream delves into water resilience and the promotion of the Blue Economy within and beyond the Mediterranean region.

The third thematic stream aims at enabling the transformation towards resilient, adaptive, and climate-neutral cities and regions. The fourth special stream focuses on building resilience in fragile settings and bridging the gap between Humanitarian Response to Post-conflict Resilience and Recovery.

These thematic streams will be addressed in panel discussions, case studies and workshops. Participants will also have the chance to explore an active marketplace, pitch sessions, insightful interviews, and immersive study visits.

This year EURESFO will take place in the framework of the Valencia Cities Climate Week, which encompasses the Cities Mission Conference, EURESFO, and the Energy Cities Annual Forum. Valencia is hosting this event as part of its EU Green Capital 2024 celebrations. Valencia Cities Climate Week will unite representatives from cities and regions across Europe to address the challenges and opportunities in enhancing resilience within the broader scope of sustainable urban development.
